Born on September 9, 1961, in Yaoundé, married, and father of five children, Professor Nicolas Gabriel ANDJIGA completed his primary education from 1967 to 1972 at Saint Joseph Catholic School in AWAE, approximately fifty kilometers from Yaoundé. In 1973, he enrolled at Lycée Général Leclerc, where he obtained a  Baccalaureate C seven years later.

ACADEMIC JOURNEY

In 1981, Professor ANDJIGA began studying Pure Mathematics at the University of Yaoundé, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Pure Mathematics in 1983, a Master’s degree in 1984, and a DEA (Diplôme d'Études Approfondies) in the same field in 1985. Two years later, at the same university, he successfully defended his third-cycle doctoral thesis with honors and distinction. The thesis, titled “Core of a Game in Constitutional Form”, was supervised by a jury that included the renowned economist Reinhard Selten (1994 Nobel Laureate in Economics). That same year, Professor ANDJIGA was recruited as a faculty member at the University of Yaoundé.

In March 1993, he defended his State Doctorate thesis with the highest honors at the University of Yaoundé 1. His thesis, titled “Constitution and Social Choice,” marked another milestone in his academic career. In the same year, he was appointed Head of the Mathematics Department at the École Normale Supérieure) of Yaoundé. In 1999, with Joël MOULEN and Marcel BRISSAUD, he published the book entitled Préférences individuelles et choix collectifs by HERMES Science Publications in France. The research outcomes of Professor ANDJIGA appeared in peer-reviewed academic outlets in the profession, such as the Journal of Mathematical Economics, Social Choice and Welfare, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Mathematical Social Sciences, Revue d'économie politique, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research, and Group Decision and Negotiation. Throughout his academic career, he has trained and mentored students who are nowadays university professors, industry experts, policymakers, educational administrators, and high school teachers in Cameroon and beyond.

ADMINISTRATIVE CAREER

Throughout his administrative career, Professor ANDJIGA was Head of the Mathematics Department at the Higher Teacher Training College of Yaoundé from July 1993 to July 2020. He was Director of the Higher Teacher Training College from January 2009 to July 2017, and from July 2017 to May 2021, he held the position of Director of Academic Affairs and Cooperation at the University of Yaoundé I. Since May 25, 2021, he has been serving as Technical Advisor to the Rector of the University of Yaoundé I.

To cover the event expenses, a registration fee of 200 000 FCA (€300 or $312) must be paid via bank transfer to the ERMASS account or directly to the organizing committee members by May 30, 2025. Payments made after this date will incur a late fee of 32 500 FCFA (€50 or $52). The payment is reduced to 65 000 FCFA (€100 or $104) for students; however, the late payment penalty amount remains unchanged. If you cannot afford the fees due to financial hardship, please respond "Yes" below to apply for an exemption.
