Mathematics in the contemporary world

Les mathématiques dans le monde contemporain

In Honor of Pr. Nicolas Gabriel ANDJIGA

Date: July 28 - 30, 2025
Host: École Normale Supérieure de Yaoundé

Context and Objectives

Join us for a scientific conference in honor of Professor Nicolas Gabriel Andjiga, a renowned mathematician and game theorist whose contributions have shaped academic thought and inspired generations of researchers. The conference will examine the crucial role of mathematics in addressing today's challenges, encompassing topics such as technology, economics, social systems, and global sustainability. Scholars, students, and professionals passionate about the transformative power of mathematics are encouraged to attend.

Program

The scientific days will be held in parallel and plenary sessions. The parallel sessions will be devoted to various advances in mathematics and their applications. Experts from each field will present their latest research to a panel of specialists. The plenary sessions will allow researchers in mathematical science (in the broadest sense) to demonstrate to the general public the current or potential contribution of mathematics to solving social, economic, sociological, border, environmental, or political problems. The last day of the Conference will be dedicated to the academic tributes to Professor Nicolas Gabriel Andjiga.
