Registration fees
The registration fee includes participation in all conference activities, lunches, coffee breaks, and one conference dinner. Participants who received registration fee waivers also have access to all the conference activities except the conference dinners. The registration fee does not include accommodation or transport costs. Coffee breaks will be offered in a designated place of the conference venue, and lunches will be provided at the former ENSY Restaurant. If resources permit, Wi-Fi will be available during the conference. We will provide additional information to invited guests for the conference dinner.
Visa
All participants from countries with a Cameroon embassy are strongly encouraged to obtain their visa in their country of residence before departure. Others
- Accommodation: Hilton Hotel Yaoundé, Star Land Hotel Bastos, United International Hotel, and Lagon Club et Affaires offer services at the International standard. Conference participants are free to reserve their stays in other hotels with adequate standards, such as Yahoot Hotel, Djeuga Palace Hotel, Hotel des Deputés, or New Heaven Hotel.
- Means of transport: For other travel, you can take a private Passenger Car with a Driver (VTCs), such as Uber or Yango.
- Language: The Conference will be conducted in French and English.
- Currency: The local currency is the CFA Franc (1 Euro = 655.957 F CFA). International credit cards are accepted at most banks in Yaoundé. 24-hour cash ATMs are readily available in the city. Traveler’s checks are accepted by most banks in Yaoundé.
- Mobile Airtime: Mobile airtime (or recharge) can be purchased through various channels, including mobile money platforms such as Orange Money and MTN Money, as well as in cash. - Health: The ENS has an infirmary to administer first aid in the event of illness. Additional medical services can be received from healthcare facilities such as the Central Hospital of Yaoundé, Hôpital Général de Yaoundé, Hôpital Gynéco-Obstétrique et Pédiatrique, and Hospital and Medical Training Centre (CHU). Pharmacies are also available throughout the city.
- Climate and local time: The local time is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1). At the end of July, Yaoundé experiences a humid, tropical climate typical of the rainy season in Cameroon. Daily temperatures typically range from 19°C (66°F) in the early morning to 27°C (81°F) in the afternoon. While heavy rain showers are common, especially in the early morning or late afternoon, there are also frequent dry intervals during the day. Humidity levels are high, and conference participants are advised to bring light, breathable clothing, a waterproof jacket or umbrella, and standard footwear. Despite the rain, travel within the city remains manageable, and the lush green landscape offers a pleasant backdrop for outdoor and cultural activities.
